NIKE+ Human Race 2009
When the NIKE+ Human Race Challenge needed to go viral, they turned to Mekanism. The Human Race Challenge needed to engage the running community is a way that motivated runners to participate in the Human Race with their Friends, through a customized challenge on what-cha-doin! We created a fictitious home page of a UGC video site (What-Cha-Doin.com) which transforms into the face of your computer, sent by your friend to challenge you to participate. By combining elements of 2D animation with FLASH Video, we created a seamless character of your computer, to deliver the message from your friend based on 2 simple questions based on Running Style. We then select each of the seven appropriate sections custom messages, each with numerous variations for each section and a list of 250+ names. The result is an experience which has 5.47+ million possible versions of the challenge.
